Katy is a production executive and producer with an extensive background in documentary and digital content.
Katy spent 7 years at global youth media company VICE, building their video operations ground up across Australia and New Zealand. As the Head of Video regionally she was responsible for the department’s commissioning, operations and team of producers. Through this role Katy fostered relationships with local funding bodies and festivals to further finance ongoing tentpole documentary series in both countries.
In 2018, Katy became Head of Development for VICE across Asia Pacific. Here she oversaw development of original programming for the region’s digital video and audio, as well as VICE Studio — pitching and producing for streaming platforms and broadcasters including Amazon, Netflix, Audible and Spotify.
In late 2019 Katy joined Sweetshop & Green as a Production & Development Executive, building a slate of scripted and documentary film and television projects in both Australia and New Zealand. In her first year with the company she had three projects greenlit, including director Sara Kern’s debut feature, Moja Vesna which premiered at the 72nd Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival in 2022.
Recently, Katy produced director Eddie Martin’s feature documentary, Fire Front (2022), through Carver Films, and was co-producer on two co-producitons; feature documentary Prisoner X due for release on ABC in late 2024, and docuseries Second to None, due for release mid-2024 via Eurosport and DocPlay.
